Here is the view of the micro controller mounted in the housing. The STAMP is to the left. The small circuit board mounted on top of the STAMP board is a small clock circuit. The stamp accesses the clock every 2 seconds since most of the decisions are based on the clock. To the right is the Solar tracking controller. The STAMP sends a signal to the tracking controller and then it turns on the motor for a # of revolutions. The number of revolutions can be adjusted on the controller. At the end of the day the STAMP tells the tracking controller to return the panel to the 'home' position for the next day. Then the controller turns on the motor in the reverse direction until it trips the limit switch.
